Cuban cycling mentor

I was compelled to visit Cuba after reading One Day in December: Celia Sanchez and the Cuban Revolution by Nancy Stout. And not only that, I wanted to cycle through places she lived, and fought with Fidel Castro. She was a Cuban revolutionary fighter who hid messages in flowers, organized weapon drop offs, faked pregnancy to get through check points, all the while wearing her giant hoop earrings and stylish garb. Strong and feminine.

Here is my story about cycling through the mountainous jungle of Cuba’s Sierra Maestra with another female cyclist.
